About me
Hi, I'm Kathy.
For the last ~7 years I've been living and working in Amsterdam, after moving here for what I thought would be a short-term UX writing job at Booking.com. As a Brit who moved here pre-Brexit, I plan to stay here for the foreseeable future.
During my time at Booking, I became a stronger UXer, honed my research skills, and got to see firsthand what an exceptionally great product environment looks like. I also became a stronger manager and mentor to multiple teams and I'm so proud of the team I helped build during my time there.
Before moving to The Netherlands, I worked for three years in both Paris and New York, creating advertorial content for clients like L'Oréal Paris. It was a very different world that taught me a sort of scrappy determination that I've found very useful ever since.
Last year, I took a sabbatical during which I focused on enjoying myself and giving my brain some well-deserved time off. I'm so grateful to have been able to give myself this time. I've learned how to better take care of myself which I feel has set me up for a stronger, healthier future. Also, my dog couldn’t have been happier about it!
Recently, I've been picking up freelance projects and I'm currently looking for exciting new opportunities, freelance or in-house. I always want to learn something new and/or be able to hone the skills I've gained from my past lives.
